Candy AI Characters

Two ways in: talk to a character someone has already written, or open the creator and write one. Most people are better served by doing the first before the second.

The two routes

Members can interact with a wide variety of existing characters or create their own from scratch. Both routes get the same chat, the same voice clips and the same media generation — what differs is how much you have to decide before the first message.

An existing character

Someone else has already resolved the archetype and the backstory. You find out in ten minutes whether the platform suits you.

The blank creator

Full control over appearance, archetype, speech pattern and background story — and a steeper start.

Reading a profile card

A card shows a face and a short brief. The brief is the half that predicts the conversation: it implies an archetype, and the archetype is what you will be reading every evening. A face can be swapped in the creator in under a minute; a register has to be lived with for as long as the subscription runs.

Read three briefs with the photos ignored and the differences become obvious. Read three photos with the briefs ignored and they do not.

If two cards read the same, they will chat the same. Keep the one whose brief you can picture replying to you on a flat Tuesday — the test that also decides between an anime build and a realistic one.

Four companions, four moods

Each of the four below is a brief rather than a face: a register you would be reading every evening. Try the one that sounds least dramatic first — it is usually the one that survives past the second week.

Switching later

Trying a second character costs nothing: text and voice are unlimited on a paid plan, and only generated media spends tokens. What you do lose is history — the memory accumulates against the character you have been talking to, so a switch after two months starts the relationship over. Heavy edits are best made in the first week.

FAQ

Can I talk to characters someone else made?

Yes — existing characters and your own creations use the same chat, voice and media features.

Which route should a new member take?

An existing character first, then the creator once you know which archetype you want to live with.

Can I change a character later?

The settings can be revisited, but the memory accumulates against who you have been talking to. Edit early.

Does trying several cost tokens?

No. Only images and video spend tokens — see the plans for what the balance covers.
